What Does It Mean to Follow Jesus?
As a church, we believe salvation comes through Jesus Christ alone. He told His followers in Luke 9:23: “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.” Following Christ means completely surrendering to Him and being willing to lay down your life to serve Him. It means you leave behind your previous life focus and accept the plans and purpose God has for you through the gospel of Jesus Christ.
How Can I Start Following Jesus?
Following Jesus is not mystical or magical—it is relational. In John 14:21, Jesus said, “Whoever has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me. And he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him.” Following Jesus means pursuing Him in His Word, growing to be more like Him, and walking in Christian community.
If you want to follow Jesus today, you can! Making the decision to follow Jesus is a simple choice, but it’s a choice that will radically change your life. You can pray now and commit your life to Him. All you have to do is believe and confess that Jesus is Lord.
