Gospel Kids

Our mission is to see our children Know Him and Make Him Known through cultivating a loving instructional environment

Curriculum

Gospel Heights uses The Gospel Project for Kids curriculum to teach children the overarching story of the Bible and invite them to participate in God’s redemptive plan for the world. Here is a link to understand the scope of The Gospel Project for Kids. Here is another link that gives you an idea of the Big Picture Questions and Answers covered in the curriculum.

Registration for

Sunday Services

In order to provide a safe and productive classroom environment, we limit our child/teacher ratio. To manage this, registration is encouraged for each child before attending a Sunday morning class. Click the button below to register your child for an upcoming Gospel Kids class.

Age-Specific Meeting Locations

While Gospel Heights meets at the UBC East Location, infants through three–year–olds will meet with their families. 4-year-olds through 5th graders will meet directly across the street in U!Kids at UBC Main, our sending church. If you have any questions about this arrangement, please see our FAQs section.

Frequently Asked Questions

About Gospel Kids

Ministry to our children starts with the parents. We believe discipleship of kids starts in the home and is the parent’s responsibility first. Our ministry aims to be a tool for parents to train up their children (Proverbs 22:6) in walking with Christ.

  • As it stands right now, we do not have the volunteer capacity or the physical space to accommodate older children in Gospel Kids. As we continue to build our volunteer base and develop more resources and space, we will progressively add more classrooms for preschool age children and elementary students.

  • During the East phase, you can bring your younger children (ages 0-3) to Gospel Heights where we will have programming for them. For your older children, you can either sign them up for the appropriate U!Kids class during the 9:30 service at UBC Beavercreek (link here?) or bring them to the Gospel Heights church service with you.

    • What if the services end at different times?

      1. Because we know that there will be some parents who have kids at the main campus and some in Gospel Kids, Gospel Heights will maintain the same service schedule as UBC Beavercreek in order to ensure that you are available to pick your kids up on time

    • How will I be contacted if I am at Gospel Heights and my child is at the main campus?

      1. If your child is registered for U!Kids, the UBC staff and volunteers have access to your contact information and can reach out to you by text or phone call if you are needed at the main campus.

  • Providing a safe and healthy environment for the children is a community commitment and effort. Please do not check a child into Gospel Kids if he or she has any of the following symptoms.

    • Fever of over 99.6 degrees

    • Chills

    • Nausea

    • Vomiting or diarrhea within the last 48 hours

    • Sore throat or trouble swallowing

    • Runny nose (especially at the beginning of a virus and if not caused by an allergy)

    • Coughing and/or sneezing

    • Unexplained rashes, sores, or spots

    • Persistent headache

    • Generalized muscle aches and pains

    • Breathing trouble

    • Unusually red, watery, or itchy eyes

    • Eyes with discharge

    • Lethargy

Please respect a Gospel Kids Ministry Partner’s decision related to admittance of a child. If there is any doubt, please keep a child out for the day.

  • Each of our Ministry Partners has been interviewed and has completed a background check. This process ensures that we provide your child with the best possible care in a safe, secure, and child-friendly environment.

  • We use Lifeway’s The Gospel Project For Kids for our entire Gospel Kids Ministry, birth–3 years old. The Gospel Project takes children on a Christ-centered, chronological journey through Scripture. Children will discover how the gospel unfolds from Genesis through Revelation. When children truly experience the gospel, their hearts are transformed. It is the gospel, not good behavior, that changes everything.

The Gospel Project for Kids will help you teach children to:

    • See the Big Story: Children will understand that the Bible is not a collection of stories but God’s unified story of redemption.

    • Grasp Essential Christian Doctrines: The “Big Picture Questions and Answers” are designed to help kids understand essential theological doctrines of the Christian faith.

Study the Old and New Testaments: Children spend equal time in the Old and New Testaments, learning the key distinctions of each and how they fit together.

  • We recommend arriving 15 minutes before the service begins.

    1. Enter through the front doors of UBC East.

    2. Inside this entrance, you will find our check-in area. Friendly volunteers will help register your family on a computer kiosk.

    3. Each of your children will receive a name tag with a security code.

    4. Parents will receive a claim ticket with the same security code, which must be presented to the room volunteers when picking up your child.

    5. You will then walk your child to his or her classroom. (The check-in people can help point you where to go!)

    1. A Ministry Partner will greet you at the classroom door.

    2. A Ministry Partner will verify that your security tag matches the child’s tag number. Once this match has been made, they will remove your child’s label.

    3. To ensure security, your child will not be released without the presentation of your corresponding tag.

  • In the event that you need to be reached during the service, you will be texted using the number you registered at our check-in kiosk. Reasons for contacting the parents are as follows:

    • Child is sick (fever, vomiting, etc.)

    • Child is crying uncontrollably for an extended period of time

    • Child has an accident and needs a parent’s assistance

  • At Gospel Heights, we value children. We value ministry with children. We are committed to making this environment a safe place for children to learn and experience God’s love and truths.

All Gospel Kids Ministry Partners are background checked. Each Ministry Partner receives a Gospel Kids Ministry Handbook and is trained on the policies and procedures for the Gospel Kids Ministry. Also, each Ministry Partner is trained on safety protocols and appropriate child interactions.

  • Before a leader or helper works with the Gospel Kids children, the Gospel Kids Ministry Leader or the group coordinator has an introduction talk with the person about their motivation, expectations, and understanding of the ministry.

Every potential Ministry Partner also completes an application that is reviewed by the Gospel Kids Ministry leadership. And every person who completes the application goes through a background check completed using Checkr.
