Missions Sunday
Based upon this last week’s sermon, how would you define “missions?” How would you differentiate a “missionary” from a “Christian?”
If there are non-believers and needs for gospel proclamation here, why send money or people to other places?
Please read Isaiah 52:13-15 then reflect on Romans 15:18-24. Why does Paul quote from Isaiah 52:15 in support of his ambition to proclaim the Gospel in Spain?
“The Gospel does not end with you but it is sent through you.” What are your regular rhythms of sharing the Gospel, praying with someone or inviting others to church? If these are not regular habits, what are some ways you can challenge yourself to begin carrying this out in your life?
Please read Isaiah 6:1-8. Why does Isaiah respond with “here am I Lord, send me” in verse 8? How should the holiness of God and his work in our hearts lead us to obedience?
A few other things to consider doing this week with your group:
Pray for an unreached people group together (www.joshuaproject.com)
Ask the group if they are interested in taking a short term mission trip this year or next. (Please report back on meaningful questions or steps people want to take here!)
Ask the group if they would be ready to adopt a missionary as a response to this last Sunday. (We can begin this process soon. Please specify not just any missionary but we want to build meaningful relationships with missionaries we have sent or support as a church collectively)
